Skylab Architecture's creative team collaborated with Method Homes to develop an impressive prefabricated, modular home in Portland, United States.
Named Taft House, the residence consists of 28 triangular modules that have been stacked and assembled on site in one day.
According to the architects, the project has two modular levels and accommodates 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms plus living areas for a total area of 365 m2. The interiors are spacious and playful. The double height living room has large windows and an entertainment area. The wooden beams in a honeycomb pattern of the ceiling visually reduce the scale of the room, while adding a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The two companies behind this house are the initiators of a modular and prefabricated building system named HOMB. This technique uses triangular modules designed to be adapted and assembled on the site, to create possibilities of infinite shapes.
