Smokestack • Architectural Photography

I photographed this smokestack last week in the late afternoon. A product of the Industrial Revolution and no longer in use, the metal straps seem to be the only thing keeping it together. Many of the bricks on the facade are crumbling but still an amazing feat of engineering... built in the mid-1800s and hanging in there today.

A shadow from a second smokestack is more apparent in the black and white version.

I photographed the smokestack with my Canon 5D camera and 70-200 mm lens.
