May Begins 70s Sunshine 80s Wednesday Thursday
We are finally here! April is done. The month was about 3 to 3.5 degrees below average which doesn't even put it in the top 10 coldest. It was also wetter than normal. Now we have a warm weather pattern here in the east with that strong upper low now off the New England coast and pulling away. We should see lots of sunshine today and a west wind. That means temperatures will reach the low and middle 70s everywhere with only a hint of a sea breeze along south facing shorelines late this afternoon.

The upper low to the east is still causing some problems with on last band of clouds and showers over Central Connecticut and Eastern Long Island this morning but it should be pulling away to the east in the next several hours.

Moving along to the next few days there really isn't too much change in the outlook. Wednesday we should see plenty of sunshine, low humidity with highs in the 80s. Thursday sunshine and some clouds but still reasonably comfortable with highs again in the 80s. We will begin to watch a weather front to the north on Thursday for clouds and some showers. Right now I think those showers stay to our north until late Friday when a cold front attempts to pass through with some showers or a thunderstorm. Friday's highs could reach 80 or better again before cooler dry air tries to arrive this weekend. However the weekend does become a bit more complicated now as the front slows down and stalls a bit offshore and some moisture from the south moves northward. Another front approaches late Sunday with the threat for showers. We will address this later today in our long range outlook.
