Komodo is a rare animal typical of Indonesia. Animal named latin Varanus komodoensis is declared as a rare animal because of its small population. For the native island of Komodo, this animal is also called ora.

Komodo is the largest lizard with an average length of 2-3 m. This large body size is associated with the presence of island gigantism symptoms, namely the tendency to be a giant body of certain animals that live in small islands associated, the rate of small metabolism and the absence of carnivorous mammals in the island where dragons live.

Komodo does not have a sense of hearing, although it has ear holes. Komodo dragons can see up to 300 m. However, since the retina only has conical cells, it seems that the animal is not very good at seeing the darkness of night.
