Will Trump Ever Make America Great Again?

I feel, as an Anarcho-Capitalist, that following politics is a sort of dirty, secret pleasure of mine. Most of the vocal Libertarians and AnCaps would be quick to dismiss political current events, proclaiming that we should be focusing on economics and philosophy.

Although the comprehension and discussion of our principles is crucial to furthering our message in changing the hearts and minds of our fellow human beings, I feel it would be remiss to simply brush off what's happening in Congress as something only minarchists and statists should follow up on. What happens in the White House and in Congress affects us all, whether we like it or not, and it's a sort of language we should all learn to speak in order to help us reach out to those who aren't of the same mind as we are.

I preferred a Trump administration over a Clinton administration purely for the fact that I knew it would force Congress to slow down and create pause for the American people. Even with all of his bluster for "Making American Great Again", I figured that Trump being elected into office would be a means of slowing down the war path laid out by former US presidents and further legislation that would restrict what freedoms we still have left. However, I think that a slowdown is as good as we can get from the Trump administration and that we will still get a lot more of the same cronyism we've had for generations.

With the "ideal" Clinton administration and Congress, Obamacare would've remained the same as it was or even made worse with additional legislation added to it. I think that military focus would have shifted more towards the Middle East instead of towards North Korea and China, which I honestly think requires more attention, given that this is an economically important region of the world that affects the global economy.

I also think that, under Clinton, the US would've taken a much more Eurocentric route in adopting more socialist policies. This, ultimately, would have put us on the fast track to an economic depression, instead of the floundering recession the American economy is still in.

All of that being said, the lesser of two evils is still pretty goddamn evil, especially considering the options that the country had set before them. As comedian Lewis Black once put it in regards to the Bush/Kerry presidential elections, "We're left to choose between two bowls of shit.

The US government placed us with the choice of getting an antidote that would help slow down and alleviate some of the pain of the fiscal/political cancer coursing through our veins and a serum that would help further spread the cancer to our vital organs. With Trump in office, everyone now has the opportunity to catch their breath and formulate plans on how to make their next move. With the Left Wing and Right Wing statists, they're focusing their efforts on how to retake or cement their control over Congress and the White House.

Libertarians and AnCaps need to capitalize on this opportunity to take action and show the American people that they don't need to continue choosing between bowls of shit anymore. Every one of us, in whatever way we can do so effectively, needs to get out in our communities and show them that free market solutions will save us from the impending doom of the State.
