Burgundy Lilies

My #amazingnature entry is the Burgundy Lilies that bloom faithfully each year.

Although they are late in blooming, the burgundy lilies in my garden give such a lovely display of color. I alway look forward to seeing these rich colored blooms by the end of July.

With their exotic looking flowers and graceful long stems the burgundy lilies stand out.

The orange lilies bloom earlier and it’s nice when their petals die off there are other lilies to look forward too. The burgundy lilies will bloom later.

The burgundy lilies were from my sister. She came to visit a few years ago and brought with her a bucket of the lilies in the trunk of her car.

A friend had given her clumps of these lilies from her garden as she was thinning out the bed. She kept some for herself and gave me a couple. We didn’t know if they would live but the two lilies thrived and multiplied. I now have a large bed of them.

These lilies must like the location they are in for they require minimum care and come up faithfully each year. They are part of amazing Nature.
