Altruism creates nothing but victims. It isn’t a free exchange but one person sacrificing themselves to the point that the giver is at a disadvantage.
This could be like you cutting off your nose so your ugly friend will be better looking than you. They didn’t ask you to do that. They are still ugly and you have no nose.
