Today is the last day of September and approaching the last day of the sixth month. At the new moon, our family will blow the trumpets and make a loud noise!!
But for now, i knock on doors and earn my wage for our family.
I had a dissagreement wirh a home dweller, who insisted that I was "soliciting" by knocking on doors. She pointed to her magic words written on her door "no soluciting". I explained that im not selling any good or service, no donations or charity, just a conversation.
People mistake politcal door knocking as "soluciting" or "tresspassing" when its neither.
Tresspassing is when an individual enters enclosed private property, clumbing over a fence or wall that is clearly marked as "no tresspassing".
As long as I do not enter peoples homes unwelcomed, or sneak into thir yards unwelcomed, political door knocking is never trespassing, when Istand in front of a door rhat is not behind a closed gate.
A closed gate or fence with a "no tresspassing" sign means do not enter, but a front door is considered public facing property, fit for visitors.
"Soliciting" is strictly an attempt at a at door financial transaction or sale arrangement. Its not illegal to do this door to door with proper permission from the municipality, but no soluciting signs apply.
For what I have been doing "no soliciting" signs do not apply. If the home dweller dosent want to speak with me, fine. If you want me to go away, fine I'll leave. But dont point to your magic sign like a talisman to ward away people you dont want to speak with.
Lets make our society hospitable again.
