We were invited to a train ride not far from home. Papa and Nana treated our whole family to a 30 minute train ride over a stretch of train tracks.
The train (and the ride) was very short, with an engine, passenger car, utility car and another passenger car.
The train conductor welcomed us on the train.
ON the first leg of the trip, the boys had their own seat.
They gave us actual tickets, that the conductor "punched" with a hole puncher, like they did in the old days.
My little boy enjoyed looking out the window at the greenery as it passed by.
Even though we are in the suburbs, there were some areas that looked remote!
The train conductor sat with the boys for a while. There were about 92 people on board between the two passenger cars.
On the way back, my little one wanted to switch sides to see out the other window. He sat with daddy!
My littlest one enjoyed the ride too and didn't cry at all!
The big girls enjoyed the ride too!
We crossed one major road and the cars all had to stop for us. They were waving at us and we waved back. A police car flashed his lights to to say "hello", but the cars around him were wondering if they were getting pulled over.
After the ride was over, we all got off the train. The conductor passed out stickers that said "I rode the train"
"It was fun!"
