Why Alimony Should be Scrutinized. Do You Agree?

Most of the time in life, things don't normally ends up as planned. Alimony is a result of one of the failed plans many individuals had experienced in life. No man wish to marry a woman to divorce her in the nearest time, but when situation worsen, many will be left with no choice.

I have seen lots of men going through pains just to meet with their ex-spouse's needs, meanwhile some of these men might have already had another woman/family which they cater for. This is hell to be sincere! So it is better to consider the various situations for which alimony should be accepted.

From my own perspective, I think the two parties should deal with themselves as done before the marriage, the way they care for each other before they got married is a lifestyle that shouldn't be abandoned by both parties. Notwithstanding when there are vast salary inconsistencies.

At the point when a marriage breaks down - the two persons are recognizing they are in an ideal situation alone, or possibly isolated from each other. On one perspective I think Alimony only motivates the individual accepting it to be languid and not willing to take an interest in the workforce.

In this regard, it doesn't make any sense when considering both parties are still young (under 50) and healthy, and most importantly when they have higher education degree.

A friend of mine once explained to me his personal experience regarding this issue. He was married for good nine and half years and never made in excess of 300k every year. His wife attained her degree while wedded, not so long she insisted in furthering her education. Meanwhile, regardless of his wife's first degree, she declined to enter the workforce, which is the reason they separated. He couldn't stand paying for another educational training and after that she then refuse to assist/aid their lifestyle.

However in spite of this, the courts granted spousal assistance for about six years. It has been over two years since they divorced and separated and his ex-life partner still hasn't joined the workforce. She just sits tight every month for a check from him. The lady is presently 34 years of age and has no plan of working. This appears to be amazingly unfair and abysmal. Also, he said his ex entered the relationship with 20k in student loan and left the marriage with about 400k in resources. In this case, there is no reason alimony ought to be given, but the courts are in reverse and living in the 1950s.

However, I wouldn't support for it to be totally abolished due to the fact that some of these failed marriages already had offspring, most especially when the kids are still very little and can't cater for themselves. Despite that, I still think it should be investigated case by case.

Dear steemians, what are your thoughts regarding alimony? Do you support for it to be abolished? Or you want it to remain as it is? Share your thoughts below at the comment section. Peace!
