Late Summer in Angelica Valley

Finally a break from the clouds, we were blessed with a beautiful evening sunset and cool weather. Perfect for an outdoor bonfire!

Leaves will begin to change soon, perhaps in the coming month. Viewing these photos gives me the sense of how hardened mankind's ability and desire to carve out land to create a home out of the forest... for this land, when before undeveloped must have been one giant massive deciduous forest of epic proportions! Nolde Forest times a million!

But now, humans have intertwined their lives with the landscape and natural living beings already occurring on the lands. And it still has a graceful feel about the images.. there doesn't seem to be too many "things" or structures.. and the rolling greens of the golf course are pleasant on the eyes.

But i do "imagine" the landscape once completely forested. For I once used to play in the forest that existed where the golf course is now.. with the neighbor's boy, Spencer, who lived in the Victorian mansion on the hill, surrounded by massive Pine trees. They owned most the land the golf course bought to build, and before it was completely wooded. Before their house blew up from a gas pipe malfunction or something of that nature.. thankfully no one injured.. but they figured to sell the house and land instead of rebuild. Ahh the memories... Nostalgia can be so strange sometimes!

Anyways.. check the land out.. Looks very beautiful and pleasant. Irregardless of the insane amount of rain we have had here. Rather that, than bone dry. But winter is coming!

I do feel blessed to live in the area I do. I pray to Heavenly Father everyday. And I work hard in attempt to become more self reliant. Day by Day. Little by Little.

Take care everyone!
