LET'S TALK: ACUTE AND CHRONIC

LET'S TALK IS BASED ON LIFE SCENARIO

CASE SCENARIO

A lady, Mrs E.K.B. from Mbarara has been told by her doctor that she suffers from acute malaria and chronic rheumatism, She is worried about the terms “acute” and “chronic” and also want  to know the treatment.

OPINION

Though her worries might seem funny to some but I bet she is very serious. Anyway Acute means any disease that comes suddenly, but when the disease grows slowly it is known as chronic. Well, since I am not a doctor and didn’t carry out the examination and test, I can’t be so sure that she is suffering from the disease that she has mentioned and therefore, I do not think I should suggest any treatment. I can only suggest seeing a doctor for a confirmation  test.
