Recently the conversation came on bread and how best to store it. Well, in my experience this is best done in a bread box or, a bit old-fashioned, in a bread compartment in the kitchen cupboard and there in a fabric bag. With us we take converted tea towels. The classic half-linen towels sewn to a bag - the bread goes into it and when it is used up, you can wash the bag. Hygienic - no chance of something getting moldy.
Letztens kam das Gespräch auf Brot und wie man es am besten lagert. Nun, meiner Erfahrung nach geschieht das am besten in einer Brotbox oder, ganz altmodisch, in einem Brotfach im Küchenschrank und darin in einem Stoffbeutel. Bei uns nehmen wir umfunktionierte Geschirrtücher. Die klassischen Halbleinen-Tücher zu einem Beutel genäht - das Brot kommt hinein und wenn es aufgebraucht ist, kann man den Beutel waschen. Hygienisch - keine Chance das etwas beginnt zu schimmeln.
