Preparing to evacuate: November 10 2019

Spent today monitoring the bushfire situation in our area. Warnings have come of "catastrophic" conditions tomorrow and for the first time we are in an area that could be impacted. Hot, dry weather and strong winds from the north are expected, and we have bushland to our north.

Packing.

We packed up a tub of all our important documents, photos and other irreplaceable items and moved them to a relatives house that is out of the danger area. We are packing bags and going to have the car loaded up and ready to go.

The likelihood of actually being at risk is still low, but it is a chance and we will be ready.

Warning area for Coffs Harbour.

NSW on fire.

Alerts around NSW are active. Sydney has a Catastrophic warning, as do many other areas. To anyone in these areas, stay safe!

Take care everyone, and don't take any risks tomorrow to my fellow Aussies.

Cheers,

JK
