The two horned man (1)

In chapter 18 of Al-Qur'an, we find the story of Zul-Qarnain; the two horned man. Literally, the two horned man means the king with the two horns. Who is he? Popular opinion identifies Zul-Qarnain with Alexander the great. An alternative suggestion is an ancient Persian king or a pre historic Hymyarite king.

When we accept the popular term of Zul-Qarnain with Alexander, we may face him as he was the king of the west ant the east, king of Greek states for the first time, or king of Persian dominion which included all western Asia, Egypt, central asia, Afganistan, and the Punjab.

He was represented on his coins with two horns on his head. He considered himself as a son of Jupiter Ammon who had two horns of ram with a divine missions. He changed the history Asia, Africa and Europe and his influence lasted for many generations after his early death on the age of 33. he lived from 356 to 323 Before 'Isa 'Alaihisalam. His name conjured with many centuries after him. it is not only with behalf of his great political power but also for his cultural influences for people and nations after him.
