Why?

Just, why are we doing that to ourselves? The way our brains work as human beings is sometimes so petty and pathetic. To appreciate this you need to take a step back and have some deep thoughts.

Most of the people I know who live in the big cities and the nicest neighborhoods are constantly complaining about how hard their lives are. But these people are actually living the dream life. (Well, as we perceive it).
They’re constantly complaining about outrageous prices of utilities. And when you talk with them you sense so much discomfort coming from them about the outwardly good life they’re living.

They have good jobs and good businesses. Ones that we the regular average people only dream of having, but they have managed to put themselves in a position that makes them feel they’re not worth sh*t.

Why?

Why do we put ourselves in such position??!!!

I call it New World Slavery!

Why is our brains so petty (sometimes) like that??
People virtually kill themselves to make other people think they’re living a good life. The irony! So petty.
In the first place, what do you get from that?

Your one month rent in the city can pay for a full year rent in a more comfortable(mentally) apartment just a few towns north. In many cases, in your hometown you can live more comfortably for a year on the same budget for your one month stay in the city while doing the same job.

City life only exists in your dreams..

New York, Paris, London, Abu Dhabi, Accra, Lagos, Johannesburg, etc

The people we know who live here are constantly in mental battles with themselves. They are in a different kind of slavery. They are living “the life” tho but they’re not alright.

My heart goes out to our relatives who left the house to seek better lives and ended up stuck in this new world slavery.
The plan was to go abroad and get and come home but quite unfortunately most of them end up being infected with the rabbit hole syndrome.

I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to experience the city life and this is what I have to say:
It is not worth it.

The city dwellers are not happy. They’re in a different kind of slavery. No wonder why mental illness is on the rise.
You deserve better living conditions for your hard work. You deserve some more peace of mind.
You deserve to be really happy.

Most people kill themselves to be there just so people will think they are doing good.
This is the part that shutters my heart! Why would you want people to think you’re doing fine when you’re actually suffering.

Most of it has to do with social media. A lack of understanding of social media.

Youth, this mindset must change!

PS: I will talk about how half of our new world problems are due to our lack of understanding of social media in another post.

Thanks for passing by.
