"Her Story"- by Zymo

 Stayed with the mermaids, never came back.

Couldn't swallow surface-world stories of lack.

False glories to track and make labels for-

cables tore deep into her heart and the sidewalk constricted.

Smiles arrived on her lips when depicted were visions of swimming.

 Restricted by fear, she never drew near

to the ocean that called her, the potion enthralled her

so she drank of that muse and did choose the cold water!

A daughter of the mist

slipped away before she’s kissed.

Abandoned tragic of the castle 

for the magic of the waves.

 It was so fun writing this poem for the ocean themed contest!
