I've always had a personal infatuation with understanding what's beyond the "veil" of this reality. There surely is something; even mainstream science has all sorts of theories. Holograms, virtual reality "dream land", computer code, or the old atheistic favorite: pure randomness in an infinitely expanding empty void that is slowly going to die over hundreds of billions of years (not my personal favorite, a bit dreary for my liking).
Quantum physics explains that there are no real "atoms" as in small little pieces of matter flying around by the trillions. Its all energy and probability in what are known as "oscillating waveform probabilities" meaning at any given time at that nanomolecular level there is a chance that a particle or wave will appear and they often flip flop. In fact the oscillating wave function of the idea of "energy" is the idea of resonating between a particle and a wave which is referred to as the Heisenberg Uncertainly Principle which is basically where quantum physics (as far as I understand it) falls apart in its practicality.
This is the Matrix. The part of reality that aligns so superbly with mathematics and hence why it is so revered by scientists far and wide. Its not much more than a projection from how we perceive and gather information mentally. And that's when the weird stuff comes along.
We are actively engaging with this matrix reality, much like we interact with computer screens. The letters you are reading right now are not "real" they were created by me, typed halfway across the world and then were "sent" through the internet which is like a fractal of the real matrix. The internet, video games and such are crude attempts to create our own matrix which is why they are never quite as satisfying as the real thing. They are copies of a copy.
One of the main methods of deception in this matrix, created by god knows who, is that we are "reacting" to the world around us instead of creating it. This, along with the parallels in the Eastern traditions mainly, enables us to create a sense of "separation" and this is the illusion of self that is thought in many sects to be the main cause of suffering in this Matrix Reality simulation.
The folklore associated with this archetype is not what's important here. It is written in many traditions. What's important practically is realizing that you are not the person who is thinking the thoughts in your head, you are the one that is listening to those thoughts and observing them. This is what is known as "self awareness", a term that has lost much luster in recent years. Self awareness is the key to overcoming all mental problems in my opinion. It is at least a crucial facet of a bigger strategy.
So the Matrix is all around us, just as Morpheus says in the movie. It is also in our own heads. That's where most people regretfully forget to look all along, focusing instead on the outside world, the simulation. The Ego that speaks in our heads as "talking to ourselves" is the real enemy of self awareness. Most of the thoughts that come through our heads are negative and based at least slightly in fear of the future or suffering from focusing on the past. This creates the two main mental problems Western society is experiencing today: anxiety (future worry) and depression (past fixation).
Much has been written now on the idea of creating your own reality, the "law of attraction" and similar ideas. Unfortunately our current social construct in the West tends to scoff at such ideas and cling to outdated "programs" (no pun intended). Things are signaled through the use of relentless propaganda from the mainstream media organ that the world just goes on in a seemingly random yet pseduo-evolutionary fashion, but that there is a never ending battle between "good" (whatever country you reside in) and "evil" (other countries, entities that you will most likely never encounter in real life).
Understanding the ideas and laws of frequency, energy and vibration are really the skills needed to take control of your mental reality. Its known already with our technology that positive emotions and thoughts carry unique measurable frequencies. We've all experienced to some degree when someone else seems to just "suck the life out of every room they enter". This is the constantly anxious, negative and fear driven frequency. Unfortunately this frequency is in many forms blasted into our collective consciousness throughout life by what society has morphed into. Overloads of stimuli, images, advertisements and other electrical static that creates feelings of anxiety and depression.
The best way to combat that is to first notice it and how it affects you. A lot of the younger generation I think do not even realize the slightest what is going on in this regard. If you aren't aware of a problem then when that problem manifests different traits in you the observer you won't make the connection, and you certainly have the keys to remedy the situation.
Long story short, if you can harness the power of self awareness you can then begin building the inner temple, your true self expressed, instead of a constant chatter of nonsensical and frankly made-up thoughts that contribute nothing to success of any kind.
Learn to focus and control your narrative with the tried and true methods of altering your environment to suit your goals. Writing lists, journalling, getting the thoughts onto paper, quite literally casting "spells" by spelling your words. Removing things that contribute to your predicament is paramount too, and that includes human beings themselves if they are a big enough nuisance. Not by brute force or callousness of course if possible but just a subtle severing of disempowering and draining relationships.
Using imagination is perhaps the lost key to really bringing it all together and this is of course a skill that is largely excised thanks to the public education system which quickly installs a cookie-cutter program, the same exact one millions of others will receive, all written by the same small band of social engineers. It has to stop. Imagination, like the thoughts that accompany it can be a great servant and horrendous master. Controlling and actively engaging and even training visual imagination is a powerful tool in the arsenal.
Knowledge is the last peg but certainly not the most important. Knowledge in the scope of this article is more about unlearning most of the dogmas we are subjected to as we grow up and learning to use intuitive (heart based) knowledge. This would be going "with the gut" so to speak. This is another skill that has been replaced with an equally important one although one that is easy to control and that is intellectual knowledge. There's nothing wrong with reading, learning and discussing information and facts, but remember that the difference between intuitive and intellectual knowledge is a matter of truth vs. supposed belief. Intellectual knowledge is based off belief. When we can properly tap into the intuitive heart / emotional / feminine aspects we can discern truth. When these two ideas are combined and the heart and intellect are pumping on all cylinders together truly amazing things can happen.
You could say that intellectual knowledge is Matrix knowledge and software. Usable and important, yes. But still based in five sense 3D reality which is the Matrix. Heart / intuition is the true self beyond the Matrix. It can't be programmed, its the untouchable core. But just being a heart chakra obsessed person isn't enough either because you can't help other people on this plane if you're never operating "in the matrix" sometimes. Its like the movie how they have to try and unplug more people, and to do it, they have to go back into the matrix. But there is a delicate balance because you don't want the matrix to "have you" as Trinity says in the first film.
You can tell when the matrix "has you" because thinking reverts to the reptilian / survival stress, flight and flight mode. Constantly stressed, high anxiety, trouble sleeping, negative thoughts, no motivation? These are signs that the "why me" thought program is currently in control. Uninstall that program and reinstall. Keep in mind it takes time, it is not instantaneous! But neither was that haunting feeling of depression and fear right? It didn't happen overnight. Give it time and practice the self awareness.
