Looking back. (In Venezuelan colloquial speech, we’d say *viendo pa'tras*.)

We Venezuelans have a very colorful way of speaking. We use words or sayings that sometimes leave even us scratching our heads—we don’t fully understand them ourselves!

And when it comes to writing, it’s even more of a disaster. We make all sorts of mistakes—or, as we might say in our local slang, orroles (a playful, intentional misspelling of errores). We might even write it exactly like that!

Every state or region has its own quirks—not just in how people speak or write, but even in how they feel and who they are. Hahaha, we’re "unique"—just like every other group of people on this planet! 🌎

Mind you, just because I’m Venezuelan doesn’t mean I’ll deny our flaws; but I also have to say that we possess some truly beautiful sentiments.

One of our virtues is sincerity. If we don’t like something, we say it—no holding back! Hahaha, we can be quite hot-headed. Our tempers flare, and we might shout, cry, stomp around, hurl insults, or get into a fight. But once we’ve let it all out, the anger fades, and we end up feeling sorry and apologizing. Well, not all of us are like that—there are better ones and worse ones. Hahaha, I told you—we’re just like this (especially me!).

That’s just how we are. And as the song goes: That’s who we are—what can you do?

Anyway, back to the main topic: how we speak and write. When we talk, we just say whatever comes to mind—oh, good heavens! It’s even worse when we write!

But really, this is just a way to pass the time—not necessarily by criticizing ourselves, but by observing who we are, which, in a way, brings a sense of joy.

We aren’t exactly "unique" in this—some of us (not me, of course!) can be quite crude, using foul language, while others are constant, relentless critics.

Still, I stand by my fellow Venezuelans—the good, the bad, and the in-between. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be a true Venezuelan! The whole point of this was just to have some fun—at our own expense.

I wanted to amuse myself and, hopefully, bring a little joy to my audience, too. Hahahaha, I hope he/she manages to do it. And yeah... honestly, you just have to take it that way. Love you all! Blessings.

Spanish Version

Si no, no sería venezolana.

Bendiciones
