Previously I was interested in the collBook project. Then I offered to create a logo on the project owner. And the project owner agrees and will use the logo on two interrelated projects.

CollBooks are designed to work on desktops and collNotes are designed to work on iOS and Android.

This is my conversation link with the project owner.

Details

collBook, is the desktop counterpart for the mobile app collNote. Combined they are a field-to-database solution designed for field biologists to gather and format “born digital” field notes into database ready formats. A mobile application, collNote is being developed for Android and iOS devices to gather Darwin Core formatted field notes. A desktop application, collBook is being developed for Linux, OS X, and Windows to refine those field notes into portal ready Darwin Core files and specimen labels. Field note refinements include: reverse geocoding localities, taxonomic alignments, and creation of customizable labels which can optionally include catalog number barcodes.

collNotes is an Android and iOS App, using Xamarin technology. Replaces, or supplements, a field biologist's traditional journal. collNotes sister app collBook.

Benefits / Improvements

These projects are related to research around biology. Therefore this logo is inspired by letters C, molecules, DNA and databases.
Molecular objects and DNA mean that this project is related to the field of biology research.
Then I make a molecular object similar to the letter C, I take from the name of this app 'coll'.
Then, in the middle of the logo, I place dotted line objects such as notes or databases. This relates to research data in the field.

I make this logo with a style that is unique, modern and easy to remember.
The green color is very compatible with this logo, because it has the meaning of nature and biology.

And on logotype, this logo uses the D-Din font so that it displays a modern and professional style.

In making the launcher icon, it is designed based on the Android & iOS icon guidelines.
