First Things First

It has been slow few weeks of receiving requests from Steemians to do design work for them. Mainly because my focus was on something else more important. But recently, I've been approached by @justtryme90, the co-founder of #steemstem to design his Steemit Profile Banner. Also a PhD in Biochemistry Research Scientist :O. A request I couldn't refuse. I wanna thank @justtryme90 for giving me this opportunity to design your Steemit Banner and it is my privilege to help make your blog page look good.

Part 1 - The Idea

A lot of Steemians gave me full reign to create the designs for them, which I'm grateful that they trust me and my skills. @justtryme90 did the same. I needed to make sure he was happy, so I did a little research on his background, and what would be appropriate to be on his banner design. I quickly found out that he was the co-founder of #steemstem, a community project to 'Promote Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Postings on Steemit'. I knew that I needed this to be the main theme for his banner. I could envision a science lab with all the science equipment laid out properly with some research going on. A clean look is what I was going for.

Part 2 - Layout

A simple table layout was designed. Adjusting the spacing between them so they would nicely fit his profile without distracting his profile details in the center. Decide to also go with the colour blue for professionalism.

Continued to add the shelf to fill up the 'negative' space. One thing about designing, try to not have any negative spaces or too huge of an empty space. Unless, you are going for a minimalistic look.

There you go, adding the high tech computer for him. Every lab needs a computer ey. And some sticky notes for important pinned tasks. :P

Part 3 - Key Details

The key details are important to show what kind of science lab this is. Because @justtryme90 is a biochemist. He studies enzyme function and previously worked on DNA replication enzymes. I thought that the microscope and the 2 petri dishes beside it would be a good key detail.

Part 4 Secondary Details

Secondary details are very important to add the finishing touches and weight to the overall design/art. The lab needed to look like a lab that studies DNA and molecules. Hence, the little DNA in the monitor and photo frame was added.

The negative space on the right side was bothering me so I decided to fill it up with science graph. Anyway, it looks way better too. :)

Part 5 - Final
