We are in fall here in Canada. Alberta, where I live has been colder than previous years. Good for those bow hunters out there!

The leaves are changing, and falling. The air is getting cooler, and the days are getting shorter. It is a wonderful time of the year, despite the cooler temperatures. Wildlife all over is preparing for winter, for the rut, for the cold days and even colder nights. Where food can be scarce at the best of times. And some animals, such as bears are doing what they can to gain weight before their long hibernating slumber.

Fall is lead into other things such as ice fishing! One of my favorite outdoor activities to do! With some luck, lakes will soon start to freeze over and we will be walking out testing thickness! Last year, I was on Peppers Lake overnight on the first weekend of November!

With November coming, which is rifle season in Alberta, these colder temps are a good thing. with a few inches of snow and the lack of leaves, you can see so much better into the bush! Although I love to bow hunt, I love the colder part of the season.

I also look forward to playing hockey at the outdoor rink. A passion I have had since a child, growing up playing hockey. I may not be as quick, or get out as much but I still love to get out once in a while!
