As many of you have seen in my past posts I have been experimenting with upvote bots. Some bots truly deliver on there promise and some don’t. Sometimes you gain a lot sometimes you lose. But how does it work?

Here I will provide my insight and explain how it works.

First you go to the Steem Bot Tracker. On this website you have a nice collection of all the current high value upvote bots. You have some sliders and some general info about the bots. Some useful things can be found on the website.

Satire

1. A slider to select the minimum vote value:
   This allows you to remove the low upvote bots if you so desire.
2. Filters to remove the bots that do not allow to send in steem for a upvote.
3. The name of the bot :D
4. And some actions. You can send them steem or SBD by using steemconnect right there on the site.
   For more info on the bots you can also click on Actions -> Details. Here you can look at the last upvote cycle and see if the users made a loss or not. This is sometimes a good indicator to see if you are willing to take the chance.

There are some bots that most of the time make you take a loss! So do your research!

The calculation

I will use a real life example. So you got to understand the process.

For one of my post I did the following: I sended 2 SBD to upmy and got a return upvote 4.26. After the deduction of 25% curation that becomes 3.195.

SEND 2 UPVOTE 4.26 AFTER CURRATION 3.195

But it does not stop after this. Now we need to split the 3.195 in two. Half of it is SBD and the other will be transferred as a value into steem.

That would be 1.597 in SBD and 1.597 with the current steem value of 2.5 that would mean 0.639 steem or 0.639 SBD (as prices are nearly the same).

So in short 1.597 SBD and 0.639 SBD = 2.236 SBD
So with this vote we made a profit of 0.236 SBD.

As you can see the upvotes are not always as profitable as we would like. But this small 0.236 can become big if steem makes it to 20-40-100 $.

A small tip, if you can send STEEM do so. As your profit will be increased by a big factor.

A simple calculation to see the difference. Current Steem Price 2.6 Current SBD price 2.5.

Send 5 Steem : upvote 10

10 * 0.75 = 7.5 upvote value after curation (25%)
7.5 / 2 = 3.75 SBD * 2.5 = 9.375 Steem and 3.75 / 2.6 (current Steem price) = 1.442 Steem
10.817 Steem – 5 Steem (the steem you send) = 5.817 Steem profit.

Send 5 SBD : upvote 10

10 * 0.75 = 7.5 upvote value after curation (25%)
7.5 / 2 = 3.75 SBD * 2.5 = 9.375 Steem and 3.75 / 2.6 (current Steem price) = 1.442 Steem
10.817 Steem – (5 SBD * 2.5) = 12.5 = -1.683 Steem loss

So you can all follow I will share with you the amounts I send in this post and what upvotes i got. The calculations you will need to do yourself.
