This battle ended fast because the mana cap was only 28. Also, I had to be more careful while choosing my monsters because I did not have the option to fill my team with high-mana cards. But, I had an advantage which was to use my Dragon summoner Aurendrak, so I was excited to see how my strategy would work in this battle. Also, it's my first time using it in frontier ranked match.
In the beginning I tried my luck on Lux's Favor and received the copy of the new monster. The mana is high so I won't be able to use it in low mana cap matches.
As you can see there was no special ruleset in this battle because it was Standard, gladly it was going to be a normal match. But there was still a challenge which was the 28 mana cap.
Since I had already been experimenting with Aurendrak in pit challenge, I decided to use my Dragon summoner again. I really wanted to see how it would perform in a lower mana battle.
There's always an advantage for choosing Aurendrak it gave me an option to choose an ability, either Flank or Void. I decided to use Flank because I wanted to give my second-position monster an opportunity to attack from behind but I forgot that spellmonger doesn't attack unless someone attacks him. Anyway, it didn't leave any negative impact though. However, my summoner is dragon but it allowed me to choose from death element. I thought this would help me get more damage from my limited lineup. Since I only had 28 mana, I wanted every monster to contribute as much as possible.
My Captain Nim Guard was not losing his health at all because my opponent kept missing their attacks. Also, Sorrow Harvester stayed behind and provided magic damage which was very helpful. My Spellmonger was not useful in this match but at least it didn't make me lose any points against my opponent.
Sorrow Harvester had Weaken ability, which reduced the maximum health of all enemy units by 1. I thought this could give my team an advantage right from the beginning of the battle. She also, attacked the opponent thoroughly even though they had a shield.
I won't lie, my opponent entered the battle with a dangerous lineup. He had chosen Death just like me and his team included some monsters with abilities that could make my attacks difficult. Since I had magic attackers in my lineup, I knew it would not be an easy monster to take down.
At first glance, I thought this could become a difficult fight because my opponent had good defensive abilities. But I left the rest to my team because I had already started the match and there was no way to change my team.
My opponent had leveled up monsters but it was no use because my lineup build was much stronger than his. I really enjoyed watching the battle. It felt satisfying seeing my strategy come together after I had spent some time thinking about which monsters could work best with Aurendrak.
Even though I couldn't use too many expensive monsters, so I had taken great choice with cards. It worked better than I had expected. So, I'm glad for that, hehe. I had fun using Aurendrak's as my summoner. Maybe it didn't help me in the battle but I thought it would but I couldn't use the ability properly. No worries, I will make sure to make it fruitful next time.
I'm looking forward to playing more Frontier battles and hopefully climbing higher with some new strategies in the future.
