I have always wondered what would I do if I were suddenly dropped in a strange land and left with nothing. Then I thought at first I would probably panic because it's something I would never dream of. Then it would take months for me to accept the situation. Since I am still young, I do not have experience or any skills that could help me to earn for livings. However, I would try to survive and not give up.
At first I would try to see if there's anything useful in my surroundings. Secondly, I would try to find out where I am located. Thirdly, I would try to communicate with people in English, if they don't understand the language and speaks something different then I would try to at least communicate with them in sign language.
I'm not good at sign language, never tried it but I can at least to communicate with someone. Then I'll try to learn their culture so I don't offend them. I would try my best to learn basic words from them and I think being kind and respectful can help me to connect with them.
I have some skills one of them is that I'm a quick learner. I know how to take responsibilities and I can work hard if the situation requires it, also I have the desire to help out people in need. I personally think that those qualities of mine are valuable at any place. If I'm unable to get necessary things which a person needs in their daily life, then I would look for a small job which will not need much of an experience.
To be honest, I have never had a job so I really don't have any experience about it but I'm willing to learn when it's necessary. I think working in a shop doing simple tasks will be easier for me, also I can be a home tutor for younger children. However, I think any job is fine for me as long as it's respectful and paying enough.
So, if I found myself in a strange land where I don't have my family with me, I would still try to stay positive because being negative won't make things any better for me. I would think of every day as an opportunity to gain some new knowledge, I'll not waste my time, instead I'll try to improve my situation.
I have the skill of adaptability, I can adapt due to any tough situation because since childhood I've faced so many struggles in life. That's why now I can handle any situation, because I got used to it. Also, I think being able to adapt is an important thing and not everyone is capable of doing that. Well, life does not always go according to plan, and sometimes we must adjust to new situations.
It may take time to get fully settled but I'll not give up. Realistically, I think it could take years to feel comfortable in this situation. But this situation would teach me a lot about myself. Moreover, it would help me to see my capabilities and how determined I can be. In conclusion, it would take me a year to become a functioning member of that strange land.
