So, one day of there's an opportunity to make a clone of myself and transfer my memories into her then I don't know what would be my answer. Maybe, I would say "no" because that's a scary thing. Like someone same to same who looks like me will be standing in front of me and talking to my loved ones as she's pretending to be me or she's a part of me. I don't think memories are enough to make someone me.
So, recently I have discovered a game which is called Directive 8020, spoilers ahead so avoid reading if you don't want the spoiler about this game. So, in this game people travel to space to find a "New Earth" to save humanity from extinction. So, the name of the spaceship is Cassiopeia. After the crew awakens from four years of hypersleep they realize they are attacked by some creatures and it got into their spaceship. By the way, you can play all of the characters one by one and the story depends on your choices. Back to the game story, these things started to clone themselves as the crew mates and attack the real ones. As you can see it's kind of a horror game.
Because of mysterious events they eventually crash-landed on Tau Ceti f planet. After that the game gives you options to choose if you want to send alert to the earth and sacrifice or ask for help to save themselves. Whatever you choose you will discover the truth. In a while, they found many dead bodies on that planet and they looked like the people of the crew members which was themselves, they also found many spaceship which had crashed before and it also looks the same. Later, they found out they are not real, all of them are clones but the memories it belongs to the original. They are not the first one, there were many clones sent before. People from earth had sent clone because they don't want to risk their lives and they knew there could be something dangerous things out there that's the reason they had sent clones to face it instead of them.
I don't know if I should call this cruelty but these clones are facing dangerous things in hope to return home but they will never return because they were sent for the purpose to save humanity. But can you call this humanity? So, yeah people may use clones for this kind of things. Even though it's a clone it will have feelings because of our memories. In the game these clones thought their memories were real and emotions they were feeling to go back to their family. They were heart broken when they found out the truth. So, after that another cloned spaceship was sent for the same purpose and it's a continuous loop.
Well, I would make a clone if she could live a new life instead of experiencing my old life. This is what makes the idea interesting to me. I think memories do not make us who we are but that's not the complete truth. I want to see what my clone would be like with the new experience. But I am still young and haven't even finished becoming myself yet. I am still changing my opinions and discovering myself. I wouldn't want to freeze my current memories and create another version of myself from them.
So, would I transfer my memories and continue life through my clone? The answer is No.
