I follow haejin@haejin who's sort of a fan of BTS, the cryptocurrency behind BitShares decentralized exchange. So I decided to give BitShares a try. Especially after Bittrex delisted it!!! Just put a few bucks and trade a few times... until it happened: it had no BTS left... all traded into other currencies.

Now, according to @xeroc you can pay the fees in "any asset". The catch is that "... the only requirement is that the so called fee pool of the asset that you want to use to pay the fee is filled sufficiently..." which is not warrantied. In my case, I got stuck with some currencies I can not trade, nor withdraw. So in order to actually get the money back, I need to buy BTS, transfer to BitShares, and only the actually do something. I'm not saying this is wrong or dishonest at all... but I think is a really bad marketing strategy.

So, from my point of view, BTS is a good currency to trade... but BitShares exchange still needs evolving. I'm buying the currency and out of the exchange. The question is: what is BTS worth without the platform? Well... the same as any cryptocurrency
