Hey, guys! How are you today? Hope you and your family are well and healthy.
I found a couple of photos of a bird in my photo archive that I completely forgot about.
I thought it was a turtle dove, but decided to make sure. It turned out not to be so, because its collar in the neck is not white, but black.
Then I just googled what I see, something like a bird with a purple breast and a white-collar: D I wasn't sure it would work, but it worked!
This is a bird from Columbidae family with a very unusual name in Ukrainian. In English it is Columba palumbus, or common wood pigeon. It looks likely to a pigeon, but pretty bigger.

It is the largest of the wild pigeons living in Europe. And these are not the pigeons that we see everywhere in cities and sometimes fed. They live in parks, or out of town, in the countryside or in the forest.
By the way, do you know that from April to mid-June Ukraine has a "silence regime"? In the forests, everything is forbidden that can disturb the peace of animals with noise: shooting, fireworks, sanitary felling of forest. The purpose of this is to protect the habitat of animals for the period of their breeding. Thanks to quarantine, this year people were forced to adhere to this law.

That's the story!
