Why did you watch this documentary?
The title Sispiracy is a combination of Sea (sea) + Conspiracy (conspiracy).
It is a work that makes us realize how cruel the destruction that we do not know about in the sea is closely related to our lives.
I watched a video on YouTube summarizing Sispiracy and watched this movie after seeing that the impact of whale hunting is as great as microplastics.
It was my shock to see. It was a shock to the fact that I knew what was hidden, that it was somehow never known from my location.
It was a collapse of the fact that only fragmented information fabricated in front of some organizational structure was all we knew.
The information we know is only a small part of the facts, and it was a powerlessness that no effort could be made in a system that is well organized.
In the beginning, the story of the sea comes out.
Awareness of overuse of plastic with photos and videos from various media, The director who produced this documentary looking at these things also tries to do the best he can.
Because all of that responsibility is what we created and used.
Because of that, a lot of plastic bottles came out of the dolphin's body, so it was believed that the dolphins were dying.
Environmental organizations are also encouraged to make donations, sign petitions, and subscribe to newsletters.
The director also participates in all such efforts and shows the daily life of trying to avoid using plastic as much as possible.
But will everything change by doing this? In this documentary, we dig deeply into the real threat, apart from our daily routine.
While watching, some may be struck by the same shock as mine.

Dolphin's Death
Japan, as many people know, is the world's largest producer of tuna.
In such countries, they withdraw from the International Whaling Committee.
In fact, it is a full declaration of whaling.
At first it was thought to catch dolphins for performances in places like marine parks, but the vast majority of all these dolphins are mostly slaughtered.
At its root, it has to do with the amount of catch, and that is because it is directly related to profits.
In the near-sighted view, the immediate economic benefit is important, but it is also a judgment that we do not know that the sea ecosystem is destroyed by dolphins and that in the long run, it will be directly connected to our lives.
If you go to Taiji in southern Japan, you can witness the massacre of dolphins.
And it threatens the police, right-wing organizations and even all fishermen.
Wherever we went, there were camouflage police catching up, and there were people watching outside the hotel as well.
The director knew that carrying a camera here is a big threat, but he came out because he knew that carrying a camera with Daiji was very important.
And because he wanted to know what the real thing was.
'There is no market where dolphin meat is traded, so why not release it back to the sea?' The answer to that question was this.
'Hazardous Tide Relief' Fishermen consider dolphins to compete.
If they get rid of the dolphins, there are so many fish that they can catch.
In the end, their slaughter of dolphins was a response to the overfishing of fish in Daiji.
Afterwards, the director visited Kiikatsuura, one of the southern parts of Japan, such as Daiji, and found at once that it was different from other fishing ports.
The place I accidentally went to was one of the world's largest tuna ports.
Among them, bluefin tuna, the most expensive fish species, was in the process of being sold, and it was a fish with great commodity value that had been sold for $3 million in the Tokyo fish market.
Currently, only less than 3% of fish species remain and are at risk.
It flourished decades ago, but unfortunately it is threatened by overfishing.
This shows that you are responsible for overfishing dolphins.
The director visits Mitsubishi, who produces 40% of endangered bluefin tuna, and asks.
"I was wondering if I could do an interview. Why are you getting rid of an endangered species and how it has to do with killing dolphins." I asked, but the answer returned, as expected, as if there was no responsibility.
He said the company refused to answer all of the interviews.
Subsequently, there was a scene where not only bluefin tuna but also shark fins sold under the name'Sharkspin' were cut off by fishermen.
Although lying weakly, only the fins are cut off and thrown into the sea.
This is because the product value is usually limited to the Sharkspin.
It's like a person has no legs.
Sharks all over the world die while rolling on the ocean floor with their fins cut off.
The reason why the government is giving up illegal fishing boats is because there are so many commercial fishing boats.
In the meantime, there are vigilantes voluntarily orbiting the world's seas, whose purpose is to protect marine life and judge offenders on the sea in the name of justice.
Among them, there is a vigilante called Sea Shepherd, which has a history of sinking 13 whaling boats and illegal fishing boats.
When they went out onto the sea to stop destroying the sea themselves, they learned a lot of shocking things.
It is said that 10,000 dolphins are killed every year on the Atlantic coast of France.
This is more than 10 times the number of dolphins slaughtered in Daiji, Japan.
No one knew for 30 years or while this was happening.
The reason was that it was well hidden by the French government.
People never know.
I love fish and eat well, but I never thought that something like this would affect the dolphin population.
This is what most people didn't know.
The biggest threat to whales and dolphins is, after all, commercial fishing.
The reason why 300,000 whales die each year is a side-fishing of commercial fishing.
So, wouldn't it be safe to have a dolphin safety mark?
No, followed by interviews with relevant practitioners and experts.
The label'sustainable', that is,'Dolphin Safe', a tuna-like mark is actually just a good-looking mark, but it is not a label that really protects dolphins.
There are observers, but they don't actually get on board every time, and if the captain says that, they believe they do, or they sell labels as a covert money deal.
If you say you did it in the system, you did it, but it was at the level of personal conscience whether that was true.
The unconscionable company just had to buy it with money.
He went to the Earth Island Association where there is a dolphin safety sign and asked.
"What can we do to protect the dolphins?" When asked, he says, eat ours with the'Dolphin Safe' certification mark.
But the director asks, "Even that doesn't guarantee the dolphin's safety, right?" Then he repeats only a very stupid answer.
He's not very sure about it, but he's still safe.
I wanted to know what the hell was saying, but in the end, all of this was meaningless.
The association official said, "The world is sometimes a very difficult place." He laughed bitterly, saying, but it was frustrating.
In the end, all of this is a gigantic scam.
It was hard to believe that the internationally certified mark was purely false, which could not guarantee anything.
"When dolphins decrease, the number of fish that the dolphins eat temporarily increases.
However, after that, the fish become extinct due to a lack of food.
This happens in a chain, and eventually all life in the sea disappears."
an ugly horde
I was actually shocked about the dolphins dying in front of me, but the bigger shock came after this.
Various environmental groups and media talking about the environment only emphasized the fact that the sea is dying because we use so much plastic, but none of them said that it was because of fishing.
But the facts were different. Much more harmful to marine life were fishing nets and fishing equipment, up to 46%.
Countless media and environmental groups have repeatedly spoken.
Explaining the plastic straws and plastic products stuck in the sea turtle's nostrils, we can protect the sea just by not using them.
However, in reality, the story of fishing was never mentioned, and the director was curious about this.
Then, he visits an environmental group called Solidarity for Plastic Pollution and asks.
'46% of the bulk of the garbage is fishing nets, and the rest is also due to various equipment for fishing.'
So, the officials from the Plastic Pollution Coalition replied that the method of eating less or not eating fish, so that the materials used to catch fish should also be reduced.
And the director asks one last time.
Why isn't this important content on your association's website? , Like countless organizations, these environmental groups also evade responsibility.
"I don't know, because I couldn't make it." He asked again directly to the founder, who avoided talking.
"The message to eat less fish?"
Founder, " that's not my role, I don't have time, I have events. Could you turn off the camera? Say "Thank you."
He identified and found out why the founder couldn't answer so much, was associated with the organization involved.
The Earth Islands Association and the Plastic Pollution Coalition were united, and had already cooperated with the fishing industry.
Since the government as well as these organizations are supporting the fishing industry, it was difficult to convey the truth to the public.
However, even in this situation, there have been efforts for truth, and there have been attempts to regulate the fishing industry and systems for monitoring by embarkation of observers.
Unfortunately, such efforts were helpless on the sea.
The organized fishing industry not only does not choose any means and methods to prevent exposure, but once embarked on the sea, it is already a weapon in itself and can be threatened with life.
In the middle, it is also said that not all of the fisheries workers are working voluntarily.
It overlapped with the contents from the 'Ecologist Guide-Food', which I read a few years ago.
"When it was revealed that workers from Myanmar aboard Thai fishing boats were being exploited and suffering in a cruel and terrible environment, it is unlikely that many consumers thought deeply about this issue.
After all, the Indian Ocean is far away in the Western society where supermarkets and restaurants are located.”
I thought that the a fish farm would rather be okay.
However, the salmon farming described here was also shocking behind the scenes.
The salmon we know is a pretty pink salmon, which is also the color that comes from feeding the salmon with a pigmented feed.
In other words, the salmon we eat are just gray fish dyed with orange pigment.
In addition, the food to feed the salmon in the salmon farm also requires a lot of fish.
This will lead to continued commercial fishing, and human rights abuses described above will inevitably continue.
And the waste produced by the farm is enormous.
Now I start to think that I shouldn't eat the fish itself.
Is sustainable operation possible?
The producers went to a place where they were doing'sustainable fishing'.
However, the landscape he encountered was truly shocking.
'Sustainability' is not eco-friendly.
It's simply something that'gets connected'.
Them don't care about the pain.
Whether the sustainable fishing he has been pursuing so far is the right goal for the sea has begun to shake.
This scene adds shock by showing shocking cuts continuously for a short period of time.
Actually, I didn't see the screen, and I was busy holding my breath.
This documentary makes us realize "why we should watch documentaries."
The human rights violations in the environment, plastics, and associated whaling industry and industrial fishing, and in the end, the whole ocean is at risk.
How we save the ocean.
The fact that even fish, which is already common knowledge to scientists, has a nervous system is still unfamiliar to the public.
All vertebrates have basic elements and senses that can be felt to an unimaginable level, the oceanographer replied.
It is said that humans feel pain and sensation in all aspects of the body, and fish sense very delicate movements in the water with lateral lines.
He even said that he shouldn't show a barbaric attitude, thinking he would feel no sense of innocent creatures.
So the director asked the oceanographer.
If so, they asked if they were eating fish now, and the answer returned, saying that they do not eat anything alive now.
Experts said that the marine ecosystem will recover quickly if conditions are met.
Coral reefs will grow again, shoals of fish will return and whales will return to shore.
We can do it, and we say commercial fishing will have to be stopped in order for the oceans to recover and become wild again.
The government insists that the industry has to be regulated, and while this is unregulated, the only thing we can do is stop eating fish.
This documentary ends, saying that the answer is not to eat these fish that have pain receptors and even socialize.
The director, who loved the beautiful sea, removed plastic and garbage from the media to preserve its appearance, and started raising money and small actions as environmental groups say.
However, it was not as simple as the public knew that the sea was threatened as we went deeper.
There were organizations involved in interests that emerged as they were sold, and many marine creatures were cruelly dying in them.
The conclusion was that in order to protect the beautiful sea, the use of plastic must be reduced, but we must also protect the lives that breathe and live in it.
It was good that I was able to get to know the images made by media and environmental groups so that some look like the whole, with such a good documentary.
It was shocking, but I was fortunate to know this truth even now. In fact, this wasn't the first time I ever saw anything like this.
I've been exposed to these in The Ecology Guide's food, which I read a few years ago, but I couldn't quit my favorite shrimp.
I always feel it, but from the moment I get immersed in convenience and take everything for granted, there is no change.
It seems to change from the moment I endure a little uncomfortable situation, try to get out of it, and dig into more understanding of the situation.
As of today, I should start with the things I can do right now.
I hope there will be a lot of documentaries with content that approaches the truth to so many people.
There is also a controversy surrounding the movie.
Overseas, there are criticisms that the quoted statistics are in error and that the interview content has been over-edited to emphasize the message they want to convey.
However, it is clear that it is an opportunity to think about marine ecosystem problems and eating habits that we have not yet thought of or overlooked.
