There is good news for all white-hat hackers.
A "Bug Bounty Program" is an offer given by companies that rewards to users who can exploit to identify any security vulnerabilities on its platform.
Netflix have now opened up their "Bug Bounty Program" publicly to everyone. Before that the company had privately offered to a handful of users and paying them to exploit security vulnerabilities on its platform i.e. since September, 2016.
The big companies like "Facebook, Google, Apple, Samsung & Microsoft to name a few had already implemented the "Bug Bounty Program" to the public and now Netflix joins the list.
Depending on the severity of the vulnerability the maximum reward payout for identifying a bug is $15,000 which may seem smaller to Samsung offering up to $200,000 for a bug and Microsoft that has recently increased its offering to $250,000, but the risk is much lower comparing a streaming service with an operating system.
It is a cost and efficient way of exploiting vulnerabilities and will surely do going to help improve Netflix with their security and prevent any future abuses.
