I remember a time I thought I could die for my little brother and then came a test. To sum it all, we went to a friends house, they had two huge German shepherds (security dogs) that weren't on a leash, they attacked us, and I distinctively remember being the first one to run away, leaving my brother vulnerable to the beasts.
It actually took a couple seconds later, before it finally dawned on me that I had left my brother vulnerable to danger like that. At this point, it had somewhat been a little late to save him. Luckily though, my friend was able to call the dogs off before they pounced on the poor boy.
Like you said, dying for others, even for our closest most beloved ones, is something easier said than done. Sometimes, in the face of danger, there's this little slight urge that immediately makes think of our selves first.
But in reality, dying for others is easy, it’s living for others that truly tests ones endurance and willpower.
Absolutely beautiful!
