When I started writing this post, I thought I already had my LIMITLESS mining routine figured out. At the moment, I was mining roughly 30 LIMITLESS net per cycle. With my current pace, that meant around 60 LIMITLESS net per day. Not bad, I thought. I was quite happy with that result. But then something funny happened while I was actually writing this post. I optimized my rotation. The reason was rather simple: I had misunderstood one of the mechanics. I was under the impression that mining and repairing couldn't really happen at the same time. So whenever my Legendary Miners were being repaired, I basically considered that downtime. Turns out, that wasn't necessary at all. So let me show you what my current setup looks like.

How am I mining right now?

I was quite lucky when I started playing LIMITLESS and got six Legendary Miners relatively quickly. One of them is a duplicate, which I'll come back to later.

I also decided to unlock a sixth mining slot. So for now, I'm running six Legendary Miners in each shift. With those six Miners, I'm currently getting around 0.45 LIMITLESS per minute, and a full mining run takes roughly four hours. I've been keeping track of my results, because I wanted to get a feeling for how consistent the numbers actually are.

On one day, my first Legendary shift produced 108.92 LIMITLESS. After deducting 70.88 LIMITLESS for the repair, that left me with 38.04 LIMITLESS net. The second shift was almost identical. I earned 109.05 LIMITLESS and spent 70.93 on the repair, leaving me with 38.12 LIMITLESS net. My LIMITLESS bookkeeping shows that this isn't just coincidence. The results are remarkably stable and the differences usually only appear behind the decimal point. For my calculations, I can therefore work with roughly 38 LIMITLESS net per Legendary run.

The repair itself takes three hours, so at the moment I'm not getting any discount on the repair cost.

And that's where I initially thought my rotation had a problem.

Then came the optimization

Once the Legendary Miners finish their run, they need to be repaired. Instead of simply waiting for them, I can use my Epic Miners during that time. My Epic setup currently produces around 0.29 LIMITLESS per minute. A typical run takes about two and a half hours. One of my test runs produced 41.53 LIMITLESS, while the repair cost me 28.34. That left me with 13.19 LIMITLESS net. I've repeated the test several times now and, just like with the Legendary Miners, the result is stable. There are some small differences, but they mainly show up after the decimal point. So I can roughly calculate with 13 LIMITLESS net per Epic run.

And suddenly my rotation looks quite different. Instead of thinking in terms of mining or repairing, I can simply alternate between the two groups. While the Legendary Miners are being repaired, the Epic Miners are working. Once that run is finished, I can switch back to the Legendary Miners. Legendary → Epic → Legendary → Epic. The cooldowns actually fit together quite nicely.

I'm quite happy that I tried this, because I really thought that you always had to choose between mining and repairing. Apparently, I was wrong.

Sometimes the easiest optimization is simply realizing that you've misunderstood something.

A small repair trick

There is another small thing I've started doing with the repairs. Normally, the repairs run for three hours. That's what I use during the day. Before going to bed, however, I usually let the repair run for six hours instead. It doesn't make a huge difference, but it saves me another one or two LIMITLESS in repair costs. It's a small optimization, but when I'm already tracking the numbers anyway, I might as well take those little gains where I can.

What does that mean per day?

With the new rotation, the difference becomes quite noticeable.

On a good day, I can manage two Legendary runs and two Epic runs. The two Legendary runs give me roughly 76 LIMITLESS net, while the two Epic runs add another 26 or so. That puts me at around 102 LIMITLESS net per day. On days where the timing doesn't work out quite as well, I'm closer to around 89 LIMITLESS net. That's quite a jump from my original estimate of roughly 60 LIMITLESS per day.

And I actually discovered this improvement while writing the post. I think that's one of the nice things about keeping track of what I'm doing. Sometimes you start writing down your strategy and realize that your strategy isn't quite as good as you thought it was.

What should I do with the duplicate Miner?

That brings me back to the duplicate Legendary Miner I mentioned earlier.

In LIMITLESS, duplicate Miners can be merged to create a better version of the same Miner.

And this is probably going to be my next experiment. I want to find out whether it makes more sense to continue mining with six individual Legendary Miners, or whether I should merge the duplicate, improve the resulting Miner and continue with five Miners. The upgraded Miner should obviously be stronger. But that's not really the question I'm interested in. What I want to know is whether the improved Miner can compensate for losing one mining slot. I could simply make an assumption and go with it. But I'd rather test it myself and see what the numbers actually tell me.

So for now, I'll keep my current setup running and collect some more data.

What's the next goal?

For the moment, I've set myself a fairly simple goal: 1,000 LIMITLESS.

I want to build up a small buffer before I make the next bigger decision. Once I reach that point, I'll have to decide where to go next. Do I use my duplicate for the merge experiment? Or do I put my resources into Expeditions instead? I haven't decided yet. And that's actually quite fitting for where I am with LIMITLESS right now. I'm still learning the mechanics, testing different approaches and figuring out what works for me. I'm not trying to present this as the perfect strategy or a definitive guide.

This is simply what I'm doing at the moment – and what I'm learning along the way.
