Well… I'm back.

After taking a break from Splinterlands for personal reasons, I've finally returned to the game. Coming back has been an interesting experience. Not because I have to learn Splinterlands from scratch – I know the game, I know the basics, and I've spent quite some time playing it before. But things have changed. And after being away for a while, even familiar systems can suddenly feel a little different. So before jumping straight back into my old routines, I decided to take a step back and explore what Splinterlands looks like for me today. What has changed? What's new? And what have I missed while I was away?

A little journey of rediscovery

That's basically what I'm planning to do over the next few posts. I'm going to take a closer look at the different game modes and systems, play them myself and share my experiences along the way. And if you've followed my posts before, you probably know where I'm going with this. I like looking at Splinterlands from the perspective of the questions a newer player might have. Not necessarily because I'm a new player myself – quite the opposite. But after a break, I think it's actually quite interesting to approach some parts of the game with fresh eyes again. So this will be a small mini-series about returning to Splinterlands.

I'll explore the different modes, figure out what has changed for me, and share the things I find interesting, useful or maybe even a little confusing. Hopefully, this will be useful both for returning players and for newer players who are trying to figure out where to start.

First stop: Frontier

The first mode I'm going to dive into is Frontier. It's a relatively new experience for me, and I have to admit that I'm already quite intrigued by it. Especially for newer players, I think Frontier could be an interesting entry point into Splinterlands. But I'll save my thoughts on that for the next post. For now, let's just say: Frontier was not quite what I expected.

And then there was the guild…

One thing I definitely didn't expect after returning was how quickly I'd find myself back in a guild. Not long after coming back, I was invited to P2E Gamer - T1.

And suddenly, I'm part of a new guild again. There's a real sense of optimism there right now. We're still getting to know each other, figuring out how we want to work together and building something as a group. Some players have been around for quite a while, while others are also finding their way into this new chapter. For me, that's actually a pretty nice way to return to the game. I came back to rediscover Splinterlands. And now I'm doing it with a new guild, new goals and quite a few things left to explore.

So…

I'm back.

Let's see where this takes me.

Next up: Frontier

I'll take a closer look at the Frontier mode, my first steps into it, what I think about the progression and why I think it could be particularly interesting for newer players.

See you there!
