The G80 sedan will now be available in a 2.2D version
The first diesel-powered car of Hyundai's premium-brand Genesis was the G70 sedan. In 2017, it was equipped with a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine, which will now also be placed higher on the G80 range.
The diesel aggregate has the same performance as the G70 - 202 hp. and 441 Nm of torque. It will be available for both the G80 and rear-wheel drive, as well as a four-wheel drive system. The gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.
Interestingly, the diesel G80 will only be available for purchase in South Korea, where models with such fuel are quite popular. This is probably why the 2.2D version is more expensive than the petrol-powered V6 3.3, developing 282 hp. For diesel, the price starts at $ 48,500, and for gasoline - from 45,800.
In Europe, the Genesis brand is still unveiled, and this is expected to happen this year. In the G80 range there are a total of 6 units - a 2.0-liter T-GDI (245 hp) 4-cylinder turbocharger, a V6 3.3 T-GDI turbocharger (370 hp), a V6 3.3 GDI (282 hp) ), V6 3.8 GDI (315 hp) and V8 5.0 GDI (420 hp). The latter is only available to the United States.
