It has been 3 weeks since I got preachy on the blockchain due to an epic vacation so hopefully you can forgive me. Positivity is best when shared and reflecting upon impactful statements helps us deliberate how we can learn from them. #thoughtfuldailypost is the tag we like to use and @thoughtfulposts is the curation account to whom we have delegated to boost its power to reward thoughtful posts.
I invite you to share in my musings and the loosely-related music I would pair with each.
We really do think highly of ourselves if you pause to consider it. Even the socially and environmentally conscious of us support animal domestication, imprisonment and harvesting. There is a law of survival of the fittest but we take it to absurd extremes. How different the world would look if we regarded the lives of other animals at even a fraction of our own. I am definitely a hypocrite as I occasionally eat beef and pork but every moment I spend thinking about this slows that rate. Every meal I enjoy can be converted to vegetarian if I try hard enough and a vegetarian family member helps as well.
I won't break into Kumbaya but maybe some Youngbloods.
I have witnessed unending debates which often turn emotional because the parties involved have the need to not only be right, but have the other person be wrong. Though it is rather close minded to assume you are unequivocally right and they are as wrong, it does serve a purpose. Allowing people to hold onto their opinions and values enables them to decipher the information and come to conclusions themselves afterwards. Even if it is a small switch in the right direction, that is the best we can do.
We must also assume we are not 100% right and constantly be stepping our perspective to a greater understanding. Plus, let flaming bags of dog shit burn out so that you don't get shit covered shoes stomping out the flames.
Another dusty oldie to illustrate the point with one of the best songs ever written.
We have all been through our own trials and flavour of shit in our lives. It takes time to recover from certain trauma but I believe we each have the responsibility to muster the will to overcome. This just can't be done for anyone.
I like the concept of healing as not erasing the pain/damage, but taking control back from it. That and not creating problems because there are plenty to handle that nobody really needs more.
Here is some Miss Jackson if ya nasty.
This movement continues to gain momentum and now as it is being curated by @thoughtfulposts to whom I have delegated some #hive @thoughtfulposts/thoughtfulposts-introduction-or-a-thoughtfuldailypost is where you can get the details and please consider delegating to help make positivity extra rewarding.
