What used to be a weekly update turned occasional seems to be working as it has been a busy 10 days. How much fun is it to peruse the pictures on your phone and remember fun moments and share them with a legion of Hive Bloggers from across the world?
In this edition, I am soaking up the warm weather, getting involved in plenty of extracurricular activities, and enjoying the outdoors!
Work
I should start with a little work as I had plenty of that to do the last week and a half. Not that visiting with my friend Geza and volunteering with the local multicultural association over lunch at a unique local restaurant is much work.
https://www.stratfordbeaconherald.com/news/local-news/multicultural-association-of-perth-huron-offering-earthquake-relief-and-immigration-support-in-turkey We are helping tell the story of collecting donations locally and heading to Turkey to the earthquake area. Distributing medical supplies and immigration services to those left with no homes left. That is some good work to be a part of.
Extra work was on the agenda this week as we are busy preparing the new global HQ for
Play
You can read more here @zekepickleman/what-a-weekend but it was a week of music as well. Though we don't perform professionally much anymore, it is still great to get out there and do it for fun in the big city. Missing being on the stage at the Hootenanny this year but happy to be spectating this time as the silliness unfolds.
Jamming with the guys, playing a little live music at Rink Rock and a few karaoke performances made for a little catch up on music over a few fun days.
BEER!
I wouldn't be much a #beerologist worth my salt if the Zekely didn't include some beer for #beersaturday. I will get into my samplings in exhaustive detail a bit later on this weekend but here is a snap from the taproom in one of my go-to Toronto breweries. Reminds me I have to plan a brewery tour wherever I go this summer and invite you along with me.
Music and work are thirsty business and I love the reward of a bold and hoppy IPA from the region to celebrate and kick back.
In related news, I am grateful for the support of my last #beersaturday entry! Imagine the feeling of making the #Trending page and being nestled right between blockchain artisan champions
SPRING!
If you visit the last Zekely Update post, you will see snow and traces of winter. In the last 10 days, it has quickly transitioned to summer-style weather which is perfect for hanging outdoors. This was between hockey games with the guys and soaking up the year's first warm rays.
I am not the only one enjoying the warm weather. With 25+Celcius days this week, you can see there are still no considerable buds on the trees but the mud has mostly turned to grass for our k9 friends to enjoy. A couple weeks of melting snow made for a muddy and mostly deserted dog park as most stayed away. As things have dried up, there are plenty of furry friends to make DogWars exciting again for Puddles McWrestlerson.
More walks and trips to the park coupled with longer and warmer evenings are foreshadowing a season of lounging on the deck. I am feeling as worn out as this happy little guys as we gaze into the back yard which needs so much work. Plenty of garden prep and planting to happen over the next few weeks and I can't wait to get back to hanging with the #hivegarden community!
As the sun sets on a buys week and a half, it is rising on another busy week. I can already see business meetings, events, concerts, more dog walks, and untold surprises lining them up for the next exciting installment of your Weekly Zekely. 'Til then, CHOOSE HAPPINESS!
Thanks for checking in and reliving a return to warm weather!
