Another fantastic week highlighted here by my biggest powerup ever, and I am checking in to share my hopefully low-key Sunday. So here is my #SublimeSunday (inspired by
This week, I am enjoying some mild winter outdoors action and a little #beer!
Groundhog Day!
Not the Bill Murray instant classic movie where you wake up and have the same day every day. Though I would take that if it meant time to get to the park with the little guy. No, groundhog day as in we have received the news from our groundhog whether or not it will be an early spring! Yes we trust our meteorology to a rodent as well but not that chump in Punxsutawney.

We have made it through the 10 darkest weeks of the year which seem to hit a little harder this far north. Our groundhog is up in an equally relevant town called Wiarton and our hog is called [Willie] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiarton_Willie) Apparently, he called for an early spring and it certainly feels that way today.
First Things First
A busy Saturday lead to a few errands remaining for Sunday. Namely, time to return the beer cans for deposit. As glorious a mosaic as this delicious picture is, some in this household are not fans. I usually let them stack a little so that I can gather them all together on the shelf for a photo before it is off to the melter. I think I can see about 18 different micro breweries in the region who have made it into my gut this last few months and it is time for a nice big refund.
Dog Wars
I reckon there were few happier dogs than this one today. A full hour walk, a quick car ride through a drive thru & bite of my burger, then over an hour in the dog park. He is sleeping like a log now but it is so nice to have extra time on a slow Sunday to be outside while he loses his mind.
The forecast called for mostly cloudy but birdhouse tree shows you the baby blue of no clouds in sight. Probably well over 2 months til the buds start popping but the unseasonably warm sun early Feb seems to please the old tree.
Still some snow on the trails where it was packed down by feet but not much to speak of. It is calling for above zero high temperatures for the next 10 days which probably can't hold. Hopefully there will be a reasonable freeze and a couple snowstorms to make things interesting before we are done for this false start of a winter.
So many neat sights and textures to be found when the snow retracts. Not 10 days ago it was -16 without the wind chill and these hearty mushrooms seem to have made it right through. I will have to see if I can catch them with a dusting of snow the next time it falls.
I have been keeping my eye out for high-contrast images in nature in the spirit of the #monomad challenge. I have a few ready and will see if that group is still in operation and having fun.
Sunset
Few can capture a sunset like Da Vex
This one back a few hundred meters is a little better. The defiant sun is struggling to set a few minutes shorter each day. Here, it pushes through the trees and brush for one last wave to Sunday. See you on the other side hopefully as the sun has gone down on another Sublime Sunday.
Sunday Brew?
Sundays are beautiful when you can end one off with a pint. Especially when it is a seasonal IPA from one of my favourite breweries and it sports a wizardly label! Wintery, hoppy and magical are about as good as it gets and it may make it onto next week's #beersaturday post. Here is the most recent one if you need more beer in your life and would like to play along.
