About a month and a half ago, I met a new friend https://steemit.com/@streetstyle who started the SPUD (steem power up day) movement. Dedicated and vested members of the steem community became that much more vested and reinforced their dedication collectively on the first of May.
Here we are June 1st and we see who is really dedicated and will become more vested!
Here are some of my thoughts on this second #SPUD Day.
Steem price - we have seen a boost in the price of steem up almost to the mid 40s ($.42) partially due to the general crypto run, and in some part due to spudders.
But I like my liquid STEEM! - I think we all do. It is my speculation that this little up in price will be matched by a little down as often happens in crypto. So, power up what you have, calculate how much fiat will be required to buy it back (for me it will be one less trip to the brewery) and celebratevwhen the price corrects down a little and you can power up and get a discount on steem.
MEOS - I have seen quite a few chicken littles speculating on the falling sky that will happen today when the rumoured Steem competitor launches. Spudding now shows your dedication to this community AND, (if the sky does lower) you will be able to buy back your liquid steem at an even greater discount.
Whales - While we wallow in a bear market, blame starts flying. I have heard enough of that and chose to see the whales selling off their stake at this low point as a transfer of power to the new leaders. How nice to sell to us so cheap!
STEEM-based tokens - there are thousands, many are just fun and may never actually carry any value. Pick a few of the ones you believe will survive and have a use case and buy a few with your loose change! Spread them around and jazz up your engagement and see if you are diversifying wisely come 2020.

So find yourself some of the many contests and win some more. Inspire your peers. Impress the dolphins who are looking to support the next round of dolphins. Stack you tokens and imagine how it will look when 
I am daddying right now and will do some sbd conversion and spudding when the rain starts to fall this afternoon and post the evidence.
