Long weekends are special up here, especially during the summer time. Even more so when you get to spend some time with family, and golf is in the equation!
Now, the weather really didn’t cooperate with our outing plans. 100% chance of rain in the forecast is not great for golf.
That didn’t slow our wayward crew as we chased the ultimate trophy for our 25 year old family tournament.
Rivers running through the fairways are not for the faint of heart. The field in the tournament thinned considerably as half dropped out at the end of 9 holes. Can’t blame them as it was hard to avoid throwing the wet club and swing through drips coming from the peak of our caps.
In the end, I ended up being 1 of only 4 people who got through 18 holes and scored an improbable score of 92 despite the challenging conditions. That was good enough to win the title!
I didn’t remember to take a picture of the trophy but here are some minnows nibbling my feet after over 11k soggy steps!
Now, I am continuing my vacation and enjoying a beer at the cottage. Cheers to 11k more steps toward my goal of the top 200
