The Khmer-ish surprise in Northern Thailand.

Fantastic place on the main 118 route at Mae Kachan. Every time I ride this main road I stop in to see this fantastic building, which is also quite spooky inside.

On a recent ride I was there at around 6am. At that time there was lots of mist in the air and the inside of the building had a decidedly haunted vibe..! Haha! (Misty morning video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BxZj9sJHPsj/)

I did a write up on it some time back, which included a video of the amazing interior. The write up plus other amazing abandoned buildings is here: http://motogirlthailand.com/amazing-abandoned-buildings-plus-burned-car-museum-northern-thailand/

An interesting contrast to my recent motorcycle trip where I rode from Northern Thailand into Cambodia, to Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat complex.
Trip report here: http://motogirlthailand.com/ride-angkor-wat-khmer-temple-trail-chiang-mai-siem-reap-loop/

Additionally some of the most fantastic remote and interesting temples I have visited are in this write up: http://motogirlthailand.com/four-remote-interesting-temples-chiang-mai-region/

All these places are well worth a visit some day, if you haven't already been. Plus, so many amazing things to see en-route also.

Northern Thailand, and Thailand itself, is a paradise of places to visit.
