Deaths in Inarell are generally mourned with a catholic/christian style funeral, with a burial. This was to mimic the closeness to Wales that I've been trying to maintain.
In the elf kingdom of Prestelwyn, the dead have a 'Sending Ceremony'. Bodies are painted with a special white liquid and the ceremony is lead by a soothsayer or shaman. The goal of the ceremony is to send the elf spirit back to the spirit realm, so that they can be reincarnated into whatever the elf gods see fit. Elves live in smaller tight knit communities than humans and other shorter lived races, as their long life and belief in reincarnation means that elves are only born infrequently due to careful 'recycling' of elf spirits.
