Africa is blessed with not just few, but all the natural resources you can ever imagine.
You made many a good point here and your question about why poverty is still around the corridors of African nations is something that people in Africa and elsewhere will keep asking for long.
So long as the greed from the developped countries continues to thrive in our continent and our leaders out of same greed are comfortably exploiting the wealth, the question will take ages to get an answer.
Mali is one of the sub-Saharan nations, the poverty rate is not something to debate, whereas Mali is very rich in gold. The gold exploited here is one of the finest in the world. They are one of the world's highest producers of shea butter and cotton.
It's over a decade since oil was discovered in the Northern part of the country, it has not been exploited due to many greedy plans. This is the main reason for the current political, civil and regional crises here which France fosters in disguise.
Some years ago, lithium was discovered, and ever since, it's been a battle, France doesn't want another country to sign a contract that excludes them even at the mercy of citizens. The military takeover was as a result of this.
Right now, with the help of the military government, Mali has just discovered diamonds. Within days, an agreement has been signed already in order to establish a roadmap leading to the commencement of operations.
My takeaway, on all these: the first set of people to blame for the mismanagement and woes in Africa is our leaders. No African leader puts national development and citizens' well-being on top of their agenda, even though they proclaim the promises during election campaigns, it's just mere words.
The second problem is the first World countries. Believe it or not, We're still being colonized. These guys understand that our leaders are corrupt, so they take advantage of the situation to steal our resources with the coined clauses "Franco-African relationship, or coorporation" "Anglo-African cooperation"
If citizens continue sleeping, they'll keep their posterity in more suffering. Thank goodness people are rising up to the challenge by trying to create something for themselves while they make impact in their various nations and environment without waiting for the government.
Personally, I do have a project for the French-speaking west African nations. I wish to contribute to the hive ecosystem in a positive way. It will be appealing to onboard people from this part of the continent because they're far behind sustained development, technology, fintech and cryptocurrency. The main goal is to try and help someone earn passively in order to support their families and fund other physical activities.
