GET TO KNOW THE SAXOPHONE
Hello fellow steemians,
My presentation today has to do with the basic specs of the saxophone.
- First of all the saxophone was invented by Adolph Sax, a Belgian inventor, in the early 1840s (patented in 1846). And here is my fellow friend and saxophonist having fun with Adolph nearby his house in Belgium.
- The sax is a woodwind instrument like the clarinet and not a brass instrument like the trumpet .
- The saxophone emulates at a high percentage the human voice !!! Ooops and that’s a singing lion! :)
- The main family of the saxophone is the soprano, the alto, the tenor and the baritone.
- The horn consists of three assembling parts the mouthpiece, the neck and the main body.
- The breathing technique depends on good usage of the diaphragm, a good sax breath is quick and deep and sometimes the player may make a searing noise while inhaling. Of course the audience would notice only in solo playing or not even there if the artist is a master of disguise.
I will be presenting the most important features of the sax from my point of view
in 7 easy to remember bullets!
