The Fund Raiser is complete! At 95.6% assembled, I have recovered enough of the funds after transferring the cash to my sick friend to call it DONE!
This whole exercise tells me that our community WORKS!
I would never have been able to get it done without the help of my friends and the community. There were so many people that donated to the cause and I cannot thank you enough!
We have, together, touched the life of a whole family.
A man who is sick with cancer rests easier as he starts his chemo treatment that one way or another, he does not leave his mother with bills she cannot pay.
When I first went to visit him, it did not seem like he had much hope. Now he speaks about the whole situation with a lot more positivity. He is going to fight!
I do not think that he would have felt this way it he was still in a position as he was at the start of July. He was cashless, his mother was in an emotional state and fighting with my friend's step dad, it was just awful.
Now he has a window to hope and there is no regret. He feels happy being able to put the money into the doctor's bills and into his mother's account.
