Pentatomoidea

Today I'm going to share some photos of an insect I found during my search this morning. This insect is very unique and I've never seen it before, so it caught my attention. To find out what species it belongs to, I sent this observation to inaturalist. There I learned about this insect, called pentatomoidea. This insect belongs to the superfamily of insects in the suborder Heteroptera within the order Hemiptera. It turns out there are many species. Some are green with red stripes, some are black, and some are brown with spots. However, the one I found is light cream in color. Its abdomen is white with black spots and a black spot in the middle of its back. This color is very striking. Its distinctive features include three pairs of legs, two antennae, a small head, large black eyes, and wings.

I was able to take a picture of it from a very close distance. It appears to be very tame, as it didn't respond. I didn't see anything when I approached it, even after taking its picture. I then tried to disturb it to make sure it was still alive using a stick. It was still alive and walked away from me and climbed onto another leaf. Since it was safe, I just let it stay there. I didn't see it fly, but I'm sure it can fly because it has wings.
