While going to the rice fields, I discovered a grasshopper nest. Around 12 noon, I went to the rice fields with an air rifle to hunt the rice pest, the emprid bird, which had been bothering us all.
As I neared the rice fields, I was startled by the sound of numerous small animals jumping around. This caught my attention, and I wanted to find what they were. It turned out they were small grasshoppers hiding under the thick grass. It turned out I was in their nest, and my arrival disturbed them, causing them to jump around.
This grasshopper is small and often found near swamps. What's unique about this grasshopper is that it doesn't grow very large. The one I caught was the largest. I took several close-up photos and then released it.
