True life story, I was literally among those who would be advising others not to survive with their savings, I was against it, but currently I'm not against it anymore, cause our lives are important, so last month a friend of mine called me and we were having a conversation about our finances, we had a longish chat on how to grow our savings then I told her the certain tricks I've been applying that have helped me so far.
Then she continued to tell me how she would save up some funds and how that fund would end up saving her life shortly, I smiled cause I'm the type who doesn't touch my savings till the due time, so I told her to discipline herself if she wants to save up. Just last week I didn't have any funds with me and I needed to survive, I looked at myself and noticed that my level of discipline had reduced, in the process of thinking then boom one thought came and was like "Na who dey alive dey save up" I realized that thought wasn't ordinary cause I can't have that kind of thought not even in my dreams.
But then reality stepped in and I was the one having the thoughts, so later that day I secretly went to my savings for survival "Please don't loud it" I know most of us it's our savings that have been saving our lives. With the current economic condition of my nation, saving up is becoming difficult, cause imagine I keep some percentage of my salary aside for saving and later going back to it for survival, this whole inflation thing is affecting my savings as well I'm not gonna lie.

One financial tip that has helped me so far is "saving" It is simply the amount of money kept aside for future use, it also represents our unspent money, well which can also be spent shortly. Saving is very important, it shows you have a plan I know not all savings are accompanied by a plan but it is always better to attach a plan to your savings to enable you to stay focused and consistent.
Savings also save lives like how it saved mine and my friend's lives, it is also known as the factor that reduces our expenditure, have you thought of how things would have been without saving, I trust myself I would be shutting down places if I wasn't saving up, so having a savings is very important it's what we have to fall back to during dry times. Savings set a financial limit for us to avoid overspending our money.
When I first started working I intended to save up fifty percent of my salary, so the first month came I tried it and it worked perfectly well, thought I could continue in it but then I realized it wasn't something I could do, so I sat down and reviewed my salary and started with something I can keep up with, savings is good but then save something you can keep up with.
The next one is something I hate doing, I haven't done it before and I pray I don't find myself in a situation that will attract that to me, do you know what it is well I'm gonna tell you it is "being in debt" if you wanna gain freedom over your finances avoid being in debt, it isn't healthy for our finances, being in debt drains our finances, I'm not talking out of experience but I'm talking out of someone's else experience that I witnessed.
