15 KJV:Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 KJV:For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 KJV:And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever (1 John 2:15-17)
If you are a child of God (Christian) and you are still in the world and also love the things of the world then you are not yet a child of God but still the child of the world. Those who are the child of God does not love the world neither the things of the world.
God said to us his children that we should not love the world neither the things of the world, if you love the world and things of the things world then you can't call yourself a child of God. Those who are in the world does not belongs to God because they are of the world and they also love the things of the world, which was warn by God not to do so but they disobeyed God and refused to listen to him, such people cannot be a children of God.
what are the things of the world
According to 1 John 2:16
- The lust of the flesh
- The lust of the eyes
- The pride of life.
All these are the things of the world which we are warned not to love them because they are not from the father.
Reason why we should not love the world 馃實
According to 1 John 2:17
Those who love the world and the things of the world does not abides for ever, they do not have the eternal life, abundant life that last for eternity.
Those that love God and despise the things of the world and the world too, they abides forever, the have abundant life that will last for eternity.
These is the reason why we should should love the world, the things of the world is vanity. If you want to abides forever then you must not love the love neither the things of the world 馃實.
Beloved brethren if you want to abide forever then you have to love not the world neither the things of the world, but you should love God that you might abides forever.
