Sinceramente, Halloween no es mi época favorita y en mi país no se suele celebrar, la juventud suelen hacer fiestas de disfraces, pero yo nunca he ido a una. Prefiero quedarme en casa y hacer una maratón de películas con temática de Halloween o en caso extremo películas de miedo.

Honestly, Halloween is not my favorite time of the year and in my country it is not usually celebrated, the youth usually have costume parties, but I have never been to one. I prefer to stay at home and do a marathon of Halloween themed movies or in extreme case scary movies.

No tengo un gran repertorio en mi lista de películas para ver en esta época, pero hay una en especial que recuerdo con mucho cariño, ya que en esta época suelen pasarla muchísimas veces por la TV, desde niña he sido miedosa y detestaba con mi vida cualquier peli que tuviera algún elemento de miedo; pero Abracadabra extrañamente no me desagradaba y era la única película que solía ver en Halloween.

I don't have a large repertoire in my list of movies to watch at this time, but there is one in particular that I remember with great affection, since at this time they usually show it many times on TV, since childhood I have been fearful and I hated with my life any movie that had some element of fear; but Hocus Pocus strangely I did not dislike and it was the only movie I used to watch on Halloween.

A medida de que fui creciendo iba agregando películas a mi maratón y no solo veía Abracadabra, Sino que también veía las de Resident Evil, una que otras de miedo que no disfrutaba nada y claramente Abracadabra tenía que estar si o sí. Me encantaba esta película porque a pesar de tener algunos sustos y una tensión agradable, tenía un toque de comedia que me mantenía entretenida.

As I got older I added movies to my marathon and not only watched Hocus Pocus, but also Resident Evil, a few scary movies that I didn't enjoy at all and clearly Hocus Pocus was a must see. I loved this movie because even though it had some scares and a nice tension, it had a touch of comedy that kept me entertained.

Abracadabra es una película algo vieja, fue estrenada en el año 1993 y fue dirigida por Kenny Ortega; el guion estuvo a manos de Mick Garris y Neil Cuthbert, el Soundrack fue realizado por John Debney y el reparto principal lo encabezaba Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, Sean Murray y Doug Jones.

Hocus Pocus is an old movie, it was released in 1993 and was directed by Kenny Ortega; the script was written by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert, the soundtrack was made by John Debney and the main cast was headed by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, Sean Murray and Doug Jones.

Esta película nos lleva al pueblo de Salem 300 años después de la captura de 3 tenebrosas brujas, Winifred, Mary y Sarah Sanderson volverán para terminar lo que comenzaron en el año 1693 y Max tendrá que buscar la forma de evitar que estas brujas consigan el poder de la inmortalidad.

This movie takes us to the town of Salem 300 years after the capture of 3 dark witches, Winifred, Mary and Sarah Sanderson will return to finish what they started in the year 1693 and Max will have to find a way to prevent these witches get the power of immortality.

La trama no es aburrida, tiene un ritmo muy interesante que se mantiene y no decae en ningún momento, tiene toques de comedia y un toque a musical muy leve; Siento que las hermanas Sanderson se roban el protagonismo y le dan un plus positivo a la historia, estas 3 actrices interpretan a estos personajes de manera increíble y te conviertes en sus fans de manera automática. Winifred, Mary y Sarah son mis personajes favoritos a pesar de ser las villanas y creo que muchas personas concuerdan conmigo.

The plot is not boring, it has a very interesting pace that is maintained and does not decline at any time, it has touches of comedy and a touch of very slight musical; I feel that the Sanderson sisters steal the show and give a positive plus to the story, these 3 actresses play these characters in an incredible way and you become their fans automatically. Winifred, Mary and Sarah are my favorite characters despite being the villains and I think many people agree with me.

Hace poco se estrenó Abracadabra 2 donde Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimy vuelven a darle vida a Winifred, Mary y Sarah, la historia en esta ocasión es diferente a la primera, pero a medida de que vas viendo la película vas notando como la nostalgia te pega, en esta nueva peli las hermanas Sanderson regresan a un Salem más moderno en busca de Venganza luego de que 2 mejores amigas encienda la vela de la llama negra.

Recently Hocus Pocus 2 was released where Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy return to give life to Winifred, Mary and Sarah, the story this time is different from the first, but as you watch the movie you notice how nostalgia hits you, in this new movie the Sanderson sisters return to a more modern Salem in search of revenge after 2 best friends light the candle of the black flame.

La diferencia es bastante grande entre estas 2 películas y siento que no logro superar a la primera, pero a pesar de esto se disfruta y pega mucha nostalgia al volver a ver 29 años después a estas queridas brujas, en lo personal yo me quedo con Abracadabra 1 porque siento que la historia está mucho mejor estructurada que la 2.

The difference is quite big between these 2 movies and I feel that I can't beat the first one, but despite this, it is enjoyable and it is very nostalgic to see again 29 years later these beloved witches, personally I'll stay with Hocus Pocus 1 because I feel that the story is much better structured than 2.

Abracadabra es la película que siempre veré en Halloween a pesar de que no me guste esta época, tengo muchos recuerdos bonitos de mi infancia gracias a esta peli y creo que nunca me cansaré de verla a pesar de saberme ya los diálogos, es una película maravillosa que se tiene que ver si o si en esta época sin importar que no sea de miedo en su totalidad, vale la pena. Espero les guste este post y se animen a incluir ambas películas en su maratón de Halloween. ¡Hasta la Próxima!

Hocus Pocus is the movie I will always watch on Halloween even though I don't like this season, I have many beautiful memories of my childhood thanks to this movie and I think I will never get tired of watching it even though I already know the dialogues, it is a wonderful movie that you have to see if you want to watch it during this season no matter if it is not scary in its entirety, it is worth it.
