Maybe this is a delicate subject for many, maybe not so much for others, maybe you have also heard the phrase I will not get vaccinated because they will control us or I do not consider these vaccines safe because they were developed in a very short time and so we go through life listening to an infinite number of phrases. Now, have you ever wondered why these people think this way, what is the basis of the anti-vaccine movements, do these people know where the word vaccine comes from? Well, let's start by answering the latter: in the 10th century the Chinese were the first to expose healthy people to secretions and tissue from sick people, obviously results were not seen instantly as most experiments are done through trial and error. On the other hand, in the Ottoman Empire, inoculation practices were performed on children so that diseases would not be so deadly. Later, after centuries passed, to systematize the techniques in 1796 in England, with the outbreak of smallpox, many farmers wondered how this disease affected some people more than certain milkmaids who were infected with smallpox, Therefore, they turned to the physician Edward Jenner where he infected a child with pustules from a milkmaid who had smallpox, then when the child recovered from the smallpox, Jenner infected the same child with the deadly strain of smallpox without affecting him.

These anti-vaccine movements may be partly right to distrust vaccines because of their side effects, but it is worth noting that many medications that are consumed daily also have them, in minimal quantity but they have them, such as ibuprofen (whose side effects can be constipation, diarrhea, gas or abdominal distension, dizziness, nervousness). Certainly, as in all movements there are radical and not so radical parts that are those who consume chemical drugs. From my point of view, the reasons I find for these movements to oppose vaccines are because of their religious, political or scientific arguments (when the latter is supported by a well-founded study).

However, nowadays many people echo arguments without scientific basis about the vaccines that are being produced to face the current pandemic, with the mythical phrases they are being produced too fast and a vaccine has to last more than ten years of study to be safe. First of all, it must be taken into account that the vaccines that are being produced in an accelerated manner is because never in the history of past pandemics was there the scientific and technological capacity that we currently have, the method that continues to be taken in the studies and analysis between phases of this vaccine can be cut from 10 years to only one, since the typical vaccine method, each phase from the pre-clinical analysis to the approval phase (approximately two years each phase), on the other hand with the production of the vaccine against covid this time is reduced to approximately two months for each phase, of course, without skipping any of these to be safe and reliable by the regulatory bodies of each country. You may also ask but I know people who die from vaccination, we have to study the percentage of people who die after vaccination, why? because we have to see if the cause of death was the vaccine itself or another cause of the same.

We must keep in mind that vaccines are not made to end the pandemic overnight (in the long term maybe yes), since many scientists say that this virus will be part of our lives either as a flu or a cold. So my opinion would be to have calm patience and why not? let's question everything but as long as we have solid grounds for our arguments and thus not look ignorant in front of other people.
